Experience our wonderful nature in winter together with our skilled guide. With snow the winter walk is done with snow shoes. Our nature is even more amazing to explore in snow and ice. The chances are good that we can follow animal tracks, even a lynx if we are lucky. During this tour you really get the feeling of being an explorer or trapper in Alaska back in the days.
 
With clear skies you will be able to look out over lakes and landscapes from one of the view-points we stop by. According to Finnish scientists in the field of acoustics there is nothing as silent as a Scandinavian forest in winter!
 
It is really unique to be able to experience southern Sweden´s wilderness Tiveden at winter too.

Meeting place

The guided tour takes place in the forests outside Tiveden national park. Tiveden is situated right between Stochkholm and Gothenburg in south Sweden. We meet up at Tiveds skola (Tived school). By car – follow the signs for Tiveden national park. From Karlsborg: 25 km. From Askersund: 30 km. From Laxå: 38 km. Train station in Laxå.

Tracking animals in the wild Tiveden Sweden 

With modern snow shoes or traditional Nordic skis we will go over the wide marshes covered in snow to experience the big skies and horizons.

We track the animals which have moved across our path and the chances are good to see tracks from fox, hare, moose and squirrel. Sometimes we also see wolf tracks!

You will go to places where very few have gone before and see older forest surviving these special environments.
The landscape where the tour takes place is one of southern Sweden´s most interesting, with high natural values connected to the marshes and the species living in the area such as great grey owl, golden eagle, black grouse and capercaillie.

During the tracking you will enjoy calm and silence and these big skies will hopefully open up your senses.

Fire crafts in the wild Tiveden Sweden

Come along on an experience filled of fire and warmth together with our fire master. You will learn the basics of making winter fires, which materials to use, different types of fire, craft your own torch, gear to have in your fire-kit and a lot more good to know.
 
This is an activity where you get skills which during the days of mankind have been necessary to survive. You will surely, with these knowledges, be able to warm yourself and others in both crisis and cosy times. There are few things which impresses and is appreciated as much as a warming fire. In the flames of our fires you will definitely find the special kind of tranquility!

We have insulated pads for you to sit on or kneel on while making the fires. A meal of hot dog buffe with coffee, tea or hot coco is included. Of course we serve vegetarian alternatives.
