In the autumn there are very exciting experiences to be made in the forests of Tiveden. We offer you moose safaris, beaver safaris, crane safaris, red deer mating season and more. Read more below!

Moose safari in the wild Tiveden Sweden

Join in on a real moose safari in the forests of Tiveden! We start with dinner out in the woods by the campfire where you get to learn more of the moose. Followed by a walk through moose territory where we look for track. Finally we go safari to look for moose.

The moose – the king of the swedish forest is our focus of attention during the evening. You will also get to learn more about the moose, it´s life and habitats. As well as how you improve your chances to find it. Did you know that the moose bull drops it´s antlers each year and new one´s grow the next year? Or that the moose has a very developed sense of hearing? That and a lot more you will learn more about, and also to sound and to call for moose.

The guided tour starts out in the forest by our camp, where you enjoy a dinner by the campfire. During the meal you will get exiting know-how of the moose and be able to ask all types of questions. Full and satisfied we head out on a easy and short walk to experience the realm of the moose. We follow their tracks in the marsh. Look for sundew and cloudberries. Visiting the beautiful pond of Tranquility.

Finally we head back to camp for the safari looking for the king of the Swedish forest.

Beaver Safari in the wild Tiveden Sweden

Come along and go looking for beaver, from boat, canoe or land. In our waters lives the interesting beaver which with it´s big teeth can fell enormous trees. During an evening in which a simple meal is included we head out to find the beaver! In streams, rivers and lakes lives beavers, which with their big teeth fell small as well as big trees. With great haste and will the beaver builds dams and floods areas which creates new living areas for not only beavers but also birds, insects, plants and animals. This in the area of Tiveden, the wild Sweden lands of Tiveden national park.

Here´s your chance to experience this shy animal in nature. We start with a presentation where you get to learn more about the beaver, it´s home range and ecology and life. Did you know that the teeth of the beaver continues to grow throughout it´s life? Or that it has a big tail with which it paddles?

The tour is made with a boat with electrical motor on open water or with canoe and on land, A simple and tasty meal is included. Of course there is vegetarian alternatives. Coffee, tea or syrup. We then head out to find the beaver during the summer evening. Life vests are included. All transports included during the safari. Binoculars as well.

Crane evening in the wild in northern Tiveden Sweden

In autumn thousands of cranes gather in the Örebro region waiting and feeding for the great migration southwards to Extremadura in Spain. In the evenings at sunset these cranes fly towards their safe sleeping areas and cross a big nature reserve with a great stunning panoramic view. Join us and experience when thousands after thousands of cranes fly in and near you. Dinner is included.

Close by Tiveden is one of Mid-Sweden's biggest marshes situated as well as for cranes suitable autumn areas. At autumn evenings at sunset thousands of cranes arrives to overnight stay. In big formations the come flying in from the east, trumpeting as if to say good bye for this season. It is hard to explain how many cranes or how big these ploughs of cranes are in the skies.

The evening starts with a dinner where you will be shown photos and learn interesting info about the cranes. The life or the crane, migration, relatives around the world and also where to go to visit nature around this area. So you are ready to come back and explore some more of our nature. We enjoy a dinner with dessert, Of course drinks are included.

We continue to the 15 meter high look-out tower, built in 2015, over-lookinga nature reserve, to watch for the cranes flight path when they come from the east. It is a complete invasion of cranes coming in waves of ploughs. The panoramic view is also wide and the horizon endless.

We head on to the site where the cranes land where we watch for the cranes landing. With the forest in the back ground the sun sets in one of the most beautiful sceneries as the sun sets while the cranes fall asleep and we carefully go back. The tour is about 6 hrs

WOLF HOWLING SAFARI IN THE WILD TIVEDEN SWEDEN

Join Naturguide Tiveden to get the chance to experience the wolves howling in the territory of the Tiveden wolves! We go out into the wolves territory to experience their lands. We track for tracks, droppings and maybe we are lucky to find a prey that they have slain. By the light of the fires flames we listen for the wolves howling.  During the wolf safari we safely and secure stay overnight in tents. Welcome to experience the wolves of Tiveden with us !

This experience focuses on the howling and the lands of the wolves in Tiveden Sweden. Do not expect to see a wolf but occassionally we do. We don´t disturb the wolves.

During the afternoon/evening we go into the territory of the Tiveden wolves to stay in their realm. 2013 a finnish-russian wolf couple were tranfered from Tornedalen in Swedish Lapland down to Tiveden, where they settled. It is these wolves we will watch for and listen to. The latest brood in 2017 the Tiveden wolves got 5 pups. We start with a dinner by the campfire where you get to learn about the wolves, their lives and habitats. The experience continues with a shorter walk where we look for the tracks of the wolf.

It can be foot tracks, dropping or even a slain prey. During the night we set camp and listen to the wolves by the camp fire. We stay overnight in tents, safe and secure. You will fall asleep in the wolf territory. All equipment for the overnight stay is provided by Naturguide Tiveden. On Saturday morning we have breakfast and then head back. To hear one of several wolves howling nearby or in the distance is an experience and a memory you will take with you for the rest of your life!

Tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, pillows and blankets are provided by the guide. All meals are included in experience (1 dinner and 1 breakfast). We have binoculars for all guests.

RED DEER SAFARI IN THE WILD IN NORTHERN TIVEDEN

Welcome to northern Tiveden to an evening in the realm of the red deers. In autumn the red deers in Hasselfors has their mating season. In the evening we watch for herds of red deers as well as mighty and strong bulls. In the sunset the bulls make their loud and typical mating calls sounding like monsters. We look for fighting bulls during this exciting evening. Dinner is included.

In northern Tiveden hirds of red deer thrive and during this evening we experience them during their mating season. The bulls start their howling by before sunset to signal other bulls that the females and the territory is theirs only. Out in the landscape you can hear the bulls clashing. The evening starts with an outdoor dinner with dessert. Drinks are included

During and after the dinner you will learn about the Life of the red deer, the landscape where they live and also where to go to visit nature around where we are. 

There after we head out for a safari tour to look for herds of red deers as well as single bulls and there is a chance to experience a couple of bulls fighting. It is a mystical and exciting felling to walk in the woods and hear the mighty bulls sounding their loud calls nearby and in the distance. A closer monster call encounter is hard to get elsewhere.
